TRACKED EXCAVATOR
20 Tonne Tracked Excavator
The size most contractors reach for first: enough reach and breakout for bulk earthworks, still floatable on a standard low bed.
A 20 tonne class tracked excavator is the workhorse of medium earthworks. It has the reach for a two storey basement dig, the breakout force for compacted ground, and it still moves between sites on an ordinary low bed trailer without a permit in most cases.
Typical work: bulk excavation, foundation and basement dig, drainage runs, site levelling, and loading trucks from a stockpile.
